Families can now pick up food for their children at these additional sites Monday through Friday:

  • Mary's Place (401 North 7th St); 10:00-10:45 am
  • Brian Coyle Center (420 S. 15th Ave.); 11:15 am - 12 Noon

Look for the red food truck! Food is available to any child 18 years and younger.  Children must be present to receive food. Additional food pick-up sites are also available.

Spring Break Academy is on!

As planned, Spring Break Academy will take place from March 30-April 3 for students who are working to recover credits. Students will participate remotely through online learning and will receive more information this week on how to do this, including details on how students who need a computer can get devices.

Child care and food distribution services to continue over Spring Break (March 30 - April 3)

MPS food service to continue:  Effective Monday, March 30 food distribution sites will be transitioning to weekly meal pick up consisting of boxes containing 10 meals per student at 50 designated sites, which will include all the current sites.  See the current list of locations and times. We will be publishing an expanded list of sites before the end of this week, as well as the weekly schedule, and continuing the daily meal pick up at sites until the sites transition from daily to weekly.

Child care services: To ensure critical emergency services continue due to COVID-19, MPS will continue to provide child care over spring break to health care workers and emergency responders who have children enrolled in an MPS school. Please note that individuals need to provide proof of their employment in the form of a letter from your employer or other worker identification.

Child care will also be provided for MPS staff who have been identified as “mission critical,” meaning they must still physically come to their work site during school closures.

Child care is free and for children ages 4 to 12, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am - 4:30 pm at designated locations. If you qualify as one of these people and need child care assistance, contact us through email at mpls.kids@mpls.k12.mn.us or by phone at 612.806.1602.

Mental health support line: 612-767-4158

MPS has partnered with Watercourse Counseling Center to create a telephone support line for our school community. The support line is available from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. There will be support for multiple languages. Call 612-767-4158. The service will link students, families and staff to a therapist and other resources. Other mental health supports can be found on this MPS webpage.

International Baccalaureate Organization cancels all student exams
